We are "All About Sewing"...

Sue Kondis, Founder
From my earliest years, sewing and hand crafts have been a part of my life. My grandmother and mother both considered “the sewing machine” to be an essential piece of furniture in their homes. I cherish my grandmother’s machine - still in my home today. But I have definitely moved into the 21st century in my personal sewing room.
Hand crafting, like cross stitch and embroidery, filled many enjoyable hours for me as a young child. Home Economics classes in high school began my love for garment sewing and pattern fitting. I received a B.S. in Clothing & Textiles/Home Economics from West Virginia Wesleyan College. After raising my family, I became a Master Fashion Maker through the Mobile County Extension Service.
For the next 18 years, I was a freelance instructor for a Mobile, AL Sewing Store. During those years, I also ran West Mobile Sewing Studio out of my home where I taught a wide variety of sewing classes. It was during those years, I developed a of love of teaching children to sew. What an honor it is to be able to pass on the love of a craft that I am so passionate about! In 2002, I co-founded All About Sewing in West Mobile where I still oversee a state-of-the-art Sewing Classroom and teach machine mastery, basic sewing and many specialty classes. In 2012, I became the sole owner of All About Sewing and now, mostly sew vicariously through my students and customers.
In 2020, during the pandemic, my son, Jonathan came to help me in the business. It did not take long for him to make his mark at All About Sewing as well as within the sewing industry across the country. In 2025, he became the new owner of All About Sewing Inc. How thrilling it is to me to know that my hard work over 25 years will live on.
